Most of southern Nevada sends most of the water we pull from Mead reservoir, back into Mead.... over and over and over. Wish more communities could viably do same.
Love those images, especially the Joshua tree at sunset. Have you been following the department of interior and Chaco Canyon? They are shrinking the buffer for oil and gas around Chaco againβ¦
Iβll bet you know Paul Reed? He has been fighting for decades, bringing in tribal leaders to voice their concerns. Iβve camped close to him at Pecos, and always learn something new.
Thanks for the watershedding, Morgan! After years of catching rainwater in buckets and watering cans, we're getting our blue barrels set up. To grow food. Collect and filter water. All electric and solar. Meanwhile with you in spirit always!
Aye. Learned water-saving, french intensive food-growing in seventies. Not big garden but does contribute. Captured water. Shade cloth much of the time now!
βLee Ferryβ is the official name of the gage location splitting the upper and lower Colorado River basins. It is just downstream from βLees Ferry.β They could have been more creative! https://www.watereducation.org/aquapedia/lee-ferry
Crazy. Even when I was on the NPS river crew for the EIS and during my law school externship for Resource mngmt, it was referred to as the gage at Lees Ferry. Learn something new everyday!

Thank you for the nudge. I updated the post to include info about Chaco and the public comment period.

We are strategizing about what growing veggies might look like, or not, in such dry times! Thank you always for your watershedding too!π€

Looks like your autocorrect might have changed Lees Ferry to βLeeβ Ferry a couple of times. Thanks for sharing the lovely photos!

I saw your profile and it made me realize this is still confusing, and not common knowledge, even for veteran boaters!
